Eating chockolate bears with honey

I'm sorry, but mister Bostonian right-wing busboy from Hell is wrong. It is the *job* of the state to take care of the people in a given nation. If the state fails to do so, then a change is required. At the core of the State is a group of elected officials, hired by the voting citizens for a specific task, which is to care for them and ensure that their communities and nation are run in a good and just manner.

At the core of the state is people. A piece of land is not a nation until there's at least one person with their arse planted firmly in its soil. These people take on certain responsibilities, like hiring governments and entrusting them with the tasks of running the nation because most of us just don't have the time to do such things. However, if the government becomes too corrupt or stops doing the job for which it was formed, then it is the task of the voting citizens to remove the government by any means necessary, though preferably through democratic means.

The same should not necessarily be said for a nation's corporate citizens. The current move towards corporatism in to-day's societies is a direct move away from a just, human-oriented society. It can't be helped, as corporations and humans are in a constant state of opposition: human rights are generaly exercised at the expense of corporate rights, and vice versa. It doesn't have to be this way; It is this way anyway.

Which does nothign to legitimise a a society with no socialised medicare or Welfare system in place. That is not a just society. It is not a society based on the dignity of the person. It is a society based on the dignity of the almighty Dollar and the corporations that preach its gospel.

And nothing will make me believe Mr. Boston-Republican-never-been-poor busboy whose parents are paying his education in a Canadian University.

I can't believe him. I would have no reason to keep going if I did.
