Mountains. Oh, I'm in Vancouver, BTW...

It's amazing how the prairies sweep so suddenly into the towering Rockies. It's amazing also that we live on the same planet as mountains and oceans and deserts, yet we spend our days in little right-angled boxes, ignoring the majesty of the natural world around us.

At one point, there was a valley below that curved off into the distance as far as I could see, perfectly bordered by a single row of mountains, the bottom of the valley was a dark, luscious green. Looking down at the mountains below, veins of snow and ice flowing down each side into green valleys, I was struck by the brilliance of it. How can anyone *not* know that this planet is the most sacred gift we could hope for?
