So, to-day is the day. Cotler tabled the same-sex marriage bill in the House, and all hell's gonna break loose. It'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass, it'll pass...

So, to-night's the State of the Union address south of the 49th. After what the CBC is calling GWB's 'Sermon-like and zealous' inaugural address, I'm loathe to know what he's going to say.

You know, part of me hopes that cooler heads prevail somewhere and Washington actually starts caring about stuff like reducing deficits and *not* semi-privatising Social Security, but the ugly, dark part of me hopes that they knock over the two or three countries that seem to be next on the list because that'll get enough Americans killed to spark the end of the US empire. They can't even afford Iraq and Afghanistan, but I really don't think that's going to stop GWB. That's what *I* got from his boneheaded inaugural address.

Oh, and GWB wants the trad definition of marriage enshrined in their constitution. Yet another example of how I'm glad to have been born north of the Border.
