movies and stuff

Um, what's with this weird craze the Americans go through every few decades, that they *have* to send waves of immigration into Canada on the heels of some ridiculous action by the US government? Not that I think it'll work this time. Washington's fingers are just too damned deep in our government at this time to allow any more Americans to successfully apply for refugees status here.

Gr. Hudson Girl and I had yet another screenplay shot down by Producer last night. In exasperation I said that I would write whatever he wanted so we could get the fucker filmed and into festivals. I need something made and behind me so I can be taken seriously as a filmmaker. I no longer care what it is, so long as it's not porn or stupid as hell. I can make what I want when people have seen that I can make *something.*

And I lit into him slightly over the fact that I have a 5-minute short with the Origamist that isn't being made right now (although that's partly because he knows no-one who can look over our script from a disinterested third-party stance and I've used up my script consultants) because of the films I've been working on with Producer and Hudson Girl.

On the bright side, Hudson Girl and I now have two screenplays finished and ready to go; those two plus the Short I wrote with the Origamist plus my as-yet unfinished feature-length film means that over the next couple of years, I and my seemingly growing list of partners won't lack for projects *IF* this first fricking movie ever gets made!
