Football and the upcoming week-end.

Well, after the early morning news of Senegal's amazing victory over the powerhouse that is the French team, everything else has seemed a little less than epic to-day. Save for the news that Canadians and other Westerners are being advised to leave India due to the escalating situation there. No, the hostilities between those two ain't news. hell, thay've been actively shooting at one another since Gandhi's time, but neither India nor Pakistan used to have nuclear weapons. THat changes things.

Oh: This morning, I called the Roommate on his cellphone to tell him the news about Senegal. I figured that he hadn't had time to check on the game from work.

About an hour later, he walked out of his bedroom and said 'g'morning.'

cf: So, I called you *here* this morning?'

Roomate: 'Yeah. Where were you?'

cf: 'Here.'

Loud guffaws from both sides.

Gross. I'm going to Vermont to-night so that we don't have to be on the road at 5h30 to-morrow morning. I'd rather do other things with my week-end, to be honest.
