05.10.2002 || 2h27 Opening night jitters I stopped myself. Fahk it, I said. The world has been ripping me to shreds with alarming regularity lately, and I think I've earned some relaxation. I thought 'At 18h00 to-night, I go back into the theatre and give all those freraking scary lighting cues and flies and yadda in front of a live audience, but I ain't going to think about it 'til then,' so I didn't clean the place while I was home (though it desperately needs it), and I didn't do my editing. I chatted a bit on AIM with the Girl and the Origamist, then I did something I haven't done in almost a year: I put Great Big Sea on the CD player and played along on my basses and bodhr�n. When I grow up, I want to be in a band again. In fact, if I don't get into school for September, I think I'm going to try and put a kickarse little pubtunes band together. I have some original stuff as well, so it wouldn't *only* be pubtunes. Hm, I need a fiddler. I ain't good enough to play that bitch in front of anyone. Not after almost a year of not playing... Beware, I'll prolly be trolling for musicians in a couple of months. Now, if only I could find my tinwhistle... Oh, the parcel was from my Da: he mailed me the masque he'd been making for me for the past year or so. It was so nice to get it now, when everything is so stressful, that I kinda had a lump in my throat a bit. I'm having a good day. It will end as I step into the theatre, but for now, I'm having a good day, dammit! |
