Dull, bored, crapulent

Checkit, yo.

So I called a couple of employment centres, one French, one English, and I've got appointments to get councelled and orientated and generally informationalised at both: 10h00 to-morrow, and 9h15 next Tuesday.

I also bought the film to finish the photo thing at McGill, and stressed a lot about money. I de-stressed by watching some crap, and ate *way* too much spaghetti. Now I'm a big ball of pasta and I ain't too happy about it.

Oh, I also spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone with Tango. They were *supposed* e-mail me an itinerary, or at least a confirmation of my order or something. Turns out they sent my tickets on the 17 October, and the reason I have no confirmation is because I didn't give them a fax number and they don't have an e-mail system set up yet. Grrr... My question is this: Why give me the option of having my confirmation and itinerary e-mailed to me *before* you get your arse in gear and set up the infrastructure?

Nichole, I got it to-day. I'll do my part now.

My fingers are cold. I think I might have to put on the heat sometime soon.

Oh, just a couple of notes pertaining to my guestbook:
1) Ronin, man, when I said that stay-home parents should be paid, I was *not* referring to welfare triskets who spend their monthly crutch on booze or smokes, I was talking about our children growing up with some semblance of a relationship with their parents, as opposed to a disjointed childhood spend with a plethora of childcare specialists. I believe that parenthood is a damned important job (probably the most important, in fact), and it should be possible to do it without taking away a source of income for the family. Why the hell should we have to choose between a child growing up with a parent around *or* getting ebough food on the table or clothes on the kids' backs?

2) Sean, you're right, civilian casualties cannot really be avoided in war. of course, if it's actually a war, like they said, then the dead at the WTC were civilian casualties of war, not innocent victims of terrorism. There's really no such thing as a 'war' on terrorism, and using the term 'war' in connexion with terrorists gives them a legitimacy they don't neccessarily deserve. And no matter how many penniless Afghan peasants we kill, we won't bring back the dead from the first volley. What we will do is create more suicide bombers and more Western casualties.
