Man, it's tense at the office to-day. The Prez forgot the keys to his office, and when he asked the COO if he ahd the keys, the COO said that the Office Manager had taken them away from him. Of course, the Office manager took them away from the COO on the Prez's orders, and the Prez keeps the only other set of spares in his office...

Suffice it to say that the prez is in a bad mood, and taking it out on us-- presumably because his forgetfulness is our fault.

So, to-morrow's the 25th anniversary of the Opening Ceremony of the 1976 Olympics, an event for which every Montr�aler still pays through the nose. Are Olympic games and World Fairs really worth all the upheaval and overcrowding that they inflict upon the hosting cities? Are there other towns on this globe where the people are still paying for their last Expo or Olympics and if so? were the long-term effects worth it? All we have is an ageing Expo site and a crumbling stadium that looks like a toilet bowl on steroids.

Hm. What's the fricking use? The businessmen and lawyers will always work hand-in hand to ensure the protection of the corporate bottom line, with governments sitting snug in their pockets and begging for crumbs.

Maybe it's time that it became personally dangerous for a businessman or UN delegate to sell his people to a transnational. I never vopted for the members of the IMF or the board of directors of GM, I never voted in a referendum to give permission to American businesses to put the majority of their factories along the Canadian border in order to take advantage of the northward airflow over North America.

So, howcome these parties are making decisions pertaining to my quality of life and my access to a clean environment?

At least there is one good thing going on in this damned world... It seems that we are slowly pulling ourselves out of some of the silly and mediaeval fears that grip us as a society. Although the right to adopt children should'nt even be in question.
