dreams again

Eh. Last night, I again dreamed that I was terminally ill. I wrote the following note:

'Dear friend,
I'm sorry, I really am, they've done all they can for me, but I'm dying. My doctor says I have 24 seconds to li...'

You know, Solon was a poet, general, and statesman who was elected archon of Athens in 594 BC. He subsequently intorduced reforms that brought about the beginnings of democracy there.

My question is, how many current-day generals could *ever* be called poets. Can anyone imagine General Schwartkof (-kopf? who knows?) standing in the sands of Iraq and reciting lines into the gaping skulls of his enemies?

Weird.
