FTAA redux
On the front page of Saturday's Globe and Mail is a picture of a protester with blood running down his face and his mouth open wide, sort of a photographic rictus of a scream, I guess. His eyes are squinting and he is being dragged away by some SQ officers. Below the picture is the caption ' A bloodied protester is arrested yesterday after about 5,000 demonstrators clashed with riot police and crashed through the three-metre high fence surrounding the site of the Third Summit of the Americas in Quebec.' What it *doesn't* say is that the protester in question was walking away because of the violence when he was jumped by a group of SQ officers, who then beat him visciously, then tore off his gas masque, sprayed the inside with pepper spray, then *put it back onto his face*, before dragging him to gaol. The idiots should have known the CBC was going to want to speak to him...
